Our commitment

The Consulate General of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Antwerp wants its website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to comply with the international web accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1, level AA).

Current status

A full accessibility audit has not yet been carried out. We therefore cannot declare the site fully compliant. However, we designed the site with the following good practices:

  • a clear heading structure, with a single main heading per page;
  • alternative text for informative images;
  • a layout adapted to computers, tablets and phones;
  • menus and links that can be used with a keyboard;
  • a text size that scales with your browser settings.

Known limitations

  • Downloadable PDF documents: some forms are not fully adapted to screen readers.
  • Photo slideshows: images scroll automatically and pause when you hover over them with the mouse.
  • Online appointment booking: the booking tool may be difficult to use with some assistive technologies.
  • Virtual assistant: its compatibility with screen readers has not yet been verified.
  • Third-party platforms (e-NIF, passeport.gouv.cd): they are managed by the Congolese authorities, and we do not control their accessibility.
